Making Up

Okay ~ so I took today off on the premise that I would take care of a few things that needed taking care of. Well, I got part of it done but then I lost my motivation. I ended up sitting on the sofa most of the day playing on my computer. I can't complain...It was a good relaxing day. I did find myself getting a little bored though...maybe I don't want to be a lazy bum after all. I really do need something to do...I'll be back at work tomorrow...C'Ya!

Lady and Me

Finally!

I was too tired to post last night...I finally got to ride Lady! It's quite the story really. We were getting ready to saddle her up when she started to back up. It wouldn't have been a big deal but she ran right into the front of Kim's van! Luckily, she didn't do any damage but it really didn't do anything to boost her confidence! I wanted Kim to ride her first just to 'test' her. She passed with flying colors. I was up on her in no time and ended up riding for about 3 hours (if not a little longer). Any time she seemed to get out of line, I would just run her around in a tight circle 3 times and she was fine. I had Kim take some pictures just before I got off so I included the picture. When I was getting ready to take the saddle off, she again backed up and ended up running about 25 feet from us. Luckily, she just stopped there because we still needed to take the bridle off! Kim was able to get to her and I was able to get the thing off of her. I think she was happy to be rid of it! I'm excited that I was able to ride her and not site on the sidelines and watch. I think she is going to be a great horse and I'm excited to go back up again to ride. Too bad it's raining today...

Topos and Sedona are certainly worn out today! I took them with and they spent the entire day running around the farm playing with the other dogs. This morning, we walked for about an hour and a half around town. They are once again vegging...which is what I am about to go do. I'm going to watch the Nascar race to try and ensure that Gorden doesn't win again...C'ya!

A 'Relaxing' Day at Work?

Yes ~ it really is possible! It was simply a day that I didn't have to run around like a chicken with my head cut off (Mmmmm...chicken). I was actually able to take the time to learn a few new things. I was also able to focus on things that didn't HAVE to be done but that I have been wanting to do. I like days like that ~ no stress!

I went to pick up my step-daughter Alyx since Mike had to work a little late. She was cracking me up all the way home. She was telling me all about her boyfriend Ryan. (Please bear in mind she is only 10). When we got home, she was telling us that she can't wait for summer school because she will be going back to her old school and back to her old boyfriend (his name has escaped my mind). When I asked her what she was going to tell Ryan, she simply said that the other one was first so too bad for Ryan. "You Go Girl!" Honestly, she is going to be quite the teenager with an attitude like that at 10!

Well, I've been awake...well...the entire day so I need to go. C'ya!

Back on track...

There are only 2 hours of television that I MUST watch each and every week. '24' is the first that I can't miss. The second, believe it or not, is The OC. It is such a 'girly, soap opera' but it is awesome! For the past couple of weeks, I've been pretty upset at the ending because it wasn't going the way I wanted it to go. Tonight, everything got back to 'normal'. I guess I really can be a girl!

...of course, this weekend I intend to 'cowboy up'. I'm so excited because the forcast for this weekend is in the 50's ~ perfect weather. I am headed up to go horseback riding. Of course, I don't know that I will get to ride Lady simply because I want to make sure she is ready for me and that I am ready for her. In fact, I would much rather Michael be there the first time that I get to ride her so he can see it was a good investment...and I can show off. Since he has to work on Saturday, he won't be able to be there. I am also glad it didn't snow or rain this week. Maybe it will be dry enough that the dogs can go with us and be able to get a little exercise outside. I will take lots of pictures to show off them all!

Well...the dirty dishes and sleep are calling me...I just need to decide which to do first...

One of those days

Have you ever had one of those days? You know ~ the kind where you really don't want to do anything or talk to anybody. Yet, you are forced to or you will lose your job. Every time the phone rang today, I cringed because I knew the person on the other end of the phone was going to have one of those really stupid questions. You know, the kind that makes you go Mmmmm....All I have to say is stupid people shouldn't breed.

Holiday?

I had the illusion that today was a holiday. No one else had to go to work...and quite frankly ~ neither did I. However, now that I have mobile technology, it has become almost impossible to take a day off. I am going to have to turn off all of this technology and just stay in bed to avoid being contacted! Hopefully all of this hard work will pay off...I will let you know in a week when my yearly review is due...

With all of this nice weather this weekend, I was able to take Topos and Sedona for long leisurely walks. I wish I could do that every day! (Yet another reason to win the lottery...) You should see them now...they are lying all over the house just relaxing; maybe I should rephrase that...they are pooped ~ Topos is snoring!

On another note, I think I am going to finally get to ride Lady ~ or at least see her since I got her. Hopefully the weather forcast doesn't change and take away my hope...I will keep you posted.

Well ~ I am going to go put away dinner and prepare for the one hour a week where I do NOTHING and watch 24. C'Ya!

How Do We Do It?

I don't get it! I spend hours and hours at work to make a small amount of money to continue to live comfortably. Just when I think I am making headway, I pay my bills and realize I have just enough to get by. IT'S NOT FAIR! I think I need to win the lottery...I guess I better start playing!

So I took today off but spent most of it dealing via computer with issues. I wonder if I will ever be able to simply take a day off. One good thing was I took the dogs for a walk today. I discovered we can walk to Sheridan's frozen custard for puppy cones! The only thing I didn't like was that we had to cross a major highway. If there was a crosswalk, it wouldn't have been so rough. We ended up walking for about 2 hours!! The three of us would say it was worth it though! Now we are just hanging out waiting for Mike to get home so we can have some dinner. I love being lazy! I wish I could do this every day...

What a Day!

Yikes! I had a day from you-know-where! I got in thinking today would be a lazy day and I might even get to sneak out just a little early. BOY WAS A WRONG! I found out that we are being audited next week. Not that I would care about an audit...However, I am in charge of our asset inventory (which I didn't know) and that they would be asking me about it. I had to do an inventory today so that I would be ready. It wouldn't have been a big deal if I wasn't going to be taking tomorrow and Monday off! I ended up working more hours than I wanted to today and I missed the OC! Oh well ~ I got it done enough to be dangerous and will finish the rest later! I'm finally home with the babies though so I can't complain too much...and I get to be a lazy bum tomorrow!

Here are the children; Topos is the one on the left and Sedona is on the right. Just so you know, it is a King Size bed!!

I told you I am the #1 Fan!

I'm blogging?

If you would have told me that I would actually be sitting down and writing a blog, I would have totally laughed in your face. Yet ~ here I am. I'm sure most of it will be focused on all of my pets and my fabulous husband. I might even occasionally include a little about work...VERY LITTLE!
