Time again for POOCHES IN PINK!!

<----------------------------- NOTICE THE CHANGES --------------------------

I'm not posting again until I reach the goal of $500 so help us out!!

Hi All!

As the world’s leading breast cancer organization, Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is committed to ending breast cancer forever. Once again this year on September 12h, Sedona and I will join thousands of others playing a part in the annual Komen Colorado Springs Race for the Cure Pooches in Pink ®. By making a donation on my behalf, you are supporting local breast cancer screening, treatment, education and outreach along with international research that will lead us to a world without breast cancer.

It is likely you know someone who has been diagnosed with breast cancer – perhaps you or your spouse, a relative, coworker, neighbor or friend – someone in your life’s circle who has heard the words, “You have breast cancer.”

A diagnosis of breast cancer affects more than just the patient. When someone we love is diagnosed, we all are affected. Families work doubly hard to keep homes running smoothly while the patient travels the road of breast cancer treatment. Businesses struggle, not only to support their coworker, but also to fill gaps in productivity.

You see, breast cancer doesn’t care – so we have to care!

My goal is to raise ($500) this year. Please help me reach that goal with your financial support. Online donations are simple, and the site is secure. Please go to my fundraising page and make a tax-deductible donation online at http://race.komencs.org/goto/kcwoofpack.

If you prefer, mail your donation today to Komen Colorado Springs Affiliate; PO Box 9670; Colorado Springs, CO 80932-0670. Please make your check payable to: Susan G. Komen for the Cure and add my name in the memo section.

The deadline to have my donations collected is by September 10.

Thank you in advance for your support. Sedona and I walk in memory of Jeri and in celebration of Julie and Lori. If you would like me to add a name to the list, please let me know and I will be happy to add them! Please call me if you have any questions about the Komen Race for the Cure®. I can be reached at (jsmewes@gmail.com or 303.647.2254).

Sincerely,

Jennifer & Sedona

P.S. I would ask you to consider making a minimum investment of $15 towards the fight for a world without breast cancer.

Craig's List - Funniest Listing to the Chiefs Fan

I was watching the news this morning before Mike and I head to The Springs for a bike excursion. One of the stories was about a Craig's list listing. You can see the entire listing with photos here:

2009 "Cantankerous Edition" Brandon Marshall - $1 (Dove Valley)

For sale: One slightly used, partially dinged up, occasionally unreliable, extremely agitated, currently insubordinate Brandon Marshall receiver! I really don't want to sell my Brandon Marshall as there were some good times with Brandon Marshall, but for the posterity of the entire fleet, it is time to part ways with Brandon Marshall. I purchased this Brandon Marshall in 2006, and it was really a good "bang for your buck" situation at the time. This is your chance to get in on this Brandon Marshall before it is too late and on the free market. Trust me, I could easily sell Brandon Marshall at a police auction. Some details about your future Brandon Marshall: Brandon Marshall is known for the ability to dodge other objects, except of course stray fast food bags. Brandon Marshall is also an underrated blocker, particularly at blocking getaway taxicabs. You will need a lot of extra space to house this Brandon Marshall as it comes with a lot of extra baggage. This Brandon Marshall also comes with excellent representation and is able to maneuver out of a tight spot. Brandon Marshall is a well-oiled machine and a work of art if I may say. So please do not put the wrong fuel in Brandon Marshall. Brandon Marshall frequently runs on the wrong fluids and it has been a problem from time to time. Also, Brandon Marshall's sightline may have been affected by the wearing of sunglasses indoors. At night.

Interesting trades will be considered for Brandon Marshall, especially if you are willing to part with a head coach not born in the 80's. However at this point, a cash for clunkers deal could probably be worked out. If interested in this Brandon Marshall, please call 303) 270-9718, email dmckee1041@aol.com, or even text 47195 to leave a comment about this particular model of Brandon Marshall. Happy shopping and caveat
emptor!

If you are considering purchase Kansas City, DON'T! It sounds like such a great deal but he is only bringing some bad press. Send him to play somewhere with Michael Vick and Brett Favre...seriously!

GO CHIEFS!!

C'ya!

Family Gathering Fun

Yesterday, Mike and I drove to the North to visit Mike's cousin Dirk. It was Glendon's (Dirk's son) birthday party. The theme was a pirate party and it seems that everyone had a great time! The party was complete with balloons, streamers, pirate hats, pirate swords, a piñata, and a scavenger hunt. The first video is the beginning of the scavenger hunt where the group gets to hear a note left and clues left for them to begin:

The next video is when one of the clue notes was found and one of the little boys was trying to read it:

The next video is after the piñata had spilled out all of the goods:

Finally, the pirate cake and a Happy Birthday song:

I believe everyone had a fun time! Happy Birthday to Glendon - until next year...

C'ya!
