From Long Ago

A couple of years ago I wanted to get KC Wolf's (the mascot for the Kansas City Chiefs) autograph for my nephew for his birthday. I sent him an email one night and the very next day, I had a voice mail from him on my cell phone. I have kept that message all this time. I decided since we were probably going to have to change our phone numbers in the process of moving, that I would archive it. Here it is:

Even more ironic, when I was getting ready to do the recording, I decided I would put up a picture on my computer screen so that there would be something to look at. When I did a google search, up pops a picture I took about 4 years ago when we were down on the field at a Chiefs game. I had forgotten that I posted the picture on a Kansas City page. I went to the site and low and behold, people have been looking at my photo and rating it. It has a rating of 10! What a night!

Team Building!

One of my employees will be celebrating his 10th anniversary with the company on Sunday of this week. To celebrate this momentous occasion, the team went on a geocaching adventure at Pulpit Rock Park in Colorado Springs. We had a great time (well at least I did). The cache we chose to do was ironically named Jennifer's Cache. Check out the photos:

Zach is the team's Mountain Man. He is an avid hiker and is prepared for any situation!

Here you can see Zach with his hiking poles coming up the hill.

Coming up behind is the employee who has been on the team for 10 years (and still kicking) Mitch.

The team is trying to figure out just where this darn cache is hidden. I found it and just stood back and watched them search...

Unfortunately, we discovered that this particular cache was a multi-cache and the other half was at the top of the darn mountain; so up we begin to climb!

After a grueling hike and a killer search, Eddy was able to seek this one out.

On the way back down, this deer stopped to pose for Josh and I.

Walking back to the car, Eddy, Zach, and Josh talk about W.O.W.

We finished the event off with dinner at PF Changs. We had a great time but now I think I need to take a nap!

The Long Way Home

Daylight savings time in the Spring is one of the longer days in the year. I woke up early this morning but had forgotten to change the clock so it was actually later than I thought. I really had to rush to make it out the door and on my way to church this morning.

When I headed out the door, I put the address to the church I had selected into the GPS. Unfortunately, the address was incorrect. Running late as I was, I decided to go to a different location so that I wouldn't be too late! I enjoyed the service and would go back again if we end up living close to there.

After church, I decided to see if my realtor could get me into see the house Mike and I really wanted to buy. On a lake and two blocks from a dog park in a nice area of Aurora for a very low price. Unfortunately, the house went under contract yesterday so looks like we missed it. Oh well, the Lord is going to get us into that house...we are merely along for the ride right now.

As I decided to drive home, I was chatting with Mike. He asked me if I had the opportunity to really go out and play yet. You know, I haven't. With work and looking for a house and driving back and forth between Colorado Springs and Denver four days a week, I don't have much time for anything. Well, today was the day to explore so I asked Mike to find me a cool route to go back home. He was successful! I had the web cam and the computer in the car so I decided I would shoot video as I was driving through the mountains. I ended up with about 30 minutes of video so I will only share one of them. I am amazed at what God has created for us!

Well, on another note, Mike is moving back down to Liberty to stay with Danelle. It's not a story I want to share much of but I think it will be better all the way around if Mike and the dogs are not staying up in Cameron right now. It is safer this way. Hopefully, Danelle & Mike don't drive each other too crazy :o)

I am going to hang it up and finish watching The Green Mile. It is back to the grind tomorrow...

Not much going on...

I know, I'm boring right now. But trust me, I just don't have much time to sit down and devote to the blog during the week. I spend 2 hours a day driving and pretty much the rest of it working. I can't wait until we find something a little closer to the office. Not only will I cut my drive time, but everyone can come out here and enjoy the view with me!!

I'll drudge up more to talk about tomorrow :o)

Snowy Day

Today has been a fabulously blizzardy day! I've gotten a ton of scrapbooking done so it has been wonderful!

I got the pictures from yesterday so everyone can take a look:

Well, I think I will go get some dinner.

Garden of the Gods

Today we packed the kids into the truck and headed to a nice area in Colorado Springs called The Garden of the Gods. It was beautiful! Unfortunately, my camera died after only three photos so you will have to wait to see pictures until tomorrow. We didn't do much because of the boys - I most definitely will be going back to do some additional exploration on my own! Would like to spend much more time there!

We also went to Manitou Springs which is not far from The Springs. Very cute town nestled in the foothills of Pikes Peak. Another place we are definitely going to have to go back to! It reminded me alot of Jerome, Arizona. I would like to go back and ride The Cog Railroad up to the peak; we didn't have enough time for it today. We went to dinner at a nice Mexican Restaraunt named The Loop. My hosts were way too nice paying for dinner so someday I am going to have to repay them!

We ended the evening going to a Colorado College Tigers Hockey game. I haven't been to a hockey game in years! We had a great time - although we left before the end (the little ones were already up way too late!). I'm pretty beat myself so I might have to call it an early Saturday night.

I'll get some pictures tomorrow so you can see kind of what The Garden of the Gods looks like, although you can click here for an idea.
