Vacation Fun - Day Three

Day one is still in progress - I can't get it to post for some reason. I'm going to go ahead and post the one from yesterday - just pretend I did it last night...

This morning, as per our usual, we woke up a little later than we wanted to. Quite alright – we are on vacation and it doesn’t really matter!

Today was the day we had set aside to put the boat on the lake and see just what kind of fish we could pull out of the darn thing. We selected our first point to drop the boat…of course, not far from a cache either. We tooled across the lake as fast as our little boat would take us and moored it to the shore close to the cache. Well, turns out, the hike was straight up! I refuse to give up until such time that we KNOW we cannot find a cache so we hiked on up. It was beautiful! Got there and the cache seems to be gone…but the view was worth it. Funny thing – the cache was about 300 ft from a road; which would have been much easier to get to the cache! Oh well…gives us a story…

We found a small cove to attempt to fish. However, with the holiday weekend, so many people are out with their boats and jet skis. Our little boat can’t handle the waves so we decided we would head for another area of the lake; hoping that there wouldn’t be as much traffic. We pulled the boat out of the water and drove around to the new destination. While it was a little better because it is closer to where the river comes into the lake, it still was quite bumpy. We stuck it out until it started until JUST before sunset. Since we forgot the flashlight in the truck, we figured we better get on our way…and quickly. We made it out with very little light to spare and headed back to the camp site.

For some reason tonight, I have a HUGE headache so we ate dinner and went to bed. Mike has intentions of getting up and going fishing…we will see how that goes…

C’ya!
