God's Paintbrush

Our first Autumn season in Colorado. God has had his paintbrush out and has been busy adding color to the landscape canvas in the Mountains. Yesterday was the perfect day to head up to Estes Park for the annual Elk Fest. We enjoyed the afternoon walking through the town, visiting the Mountain Man Rendezvous, and viewing the elk in Rocky Mountain National Park. The colors of the trees are simply amazing!

We rounded the final corner before heading out of the park and happened upon two of the elk seeming to have a battle; not sure over what as there did not seem to be any females anywhere close:

We took the long way home and found a couple more roads that normal people would probably pass on. We had a fantastic time and cannot wait until next weekend for our anniversary. No special plans but we remember the colors from 6 years ago - I'm sure we will see much of the same!

I'm going back to beading a necklace.

C'ya!
